OBSIDIAN RECORDS was founded by RAISER (Laurie Carroll) in March 2026 with a clear vision: a label built by artists, for artists. Focused on cutting-edge Drum & Bass, Obsidian puts artist development at its core, challenging the traditional label model by investing in long-term careers, creative freedom and genuine collaboration.
With almost two decades in the industry, RAISER has built a career spanning RAM Records as one half of Mind Vortex, a successful solo career, and Musical Director for the acclaimed OrchestRAM and Orchestrave projects, performed at Milton Court Concert Hall and the iconic Barbican.
Alongside the label, RAISER runs a successful artist development programme, helping producers achieve a professional standard in music production, mixing and industry knowledge. He also founded RAISER & Friends in 2025, creating a platform where emerging artists can test new music, experiment with their sound and grow within a supportive community.
